Job Description

Responsibilities:

·         Drive new sales opportunities through developing new and leveraging existing relationships.

·         Maintain current knowledge of the Lawn Care industry, it's trends and best practices.

·         Manage sales cycles; negotiate and customize deals; work closely with teams; coordinate and manage resources to effectively move business forward.

·         Meet established sales quotas.

·         Strategize and execute client acquisition and retention programs.

·         Deliver sales presentations and attend trade show; work with management to coordinate proposals.

·         Meet regularly with Management team regarding customer activity.

·         Provide customers service as needed and help manage existing customers.

Other duties and responsibilities:

Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.

Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

·         2 Years industry experience.

·         Aggressive new business development style and strong comfort level in opportunity development, cold calling and "fill the funnel" targeted activities.

·         Proven customer acquisition experience by utilizing consultative, solution sales processes customized for each opportunity.

·         Experience and knowledge of Customer Acquisition Management or CRM a plus.

·         Intermediate PC skills, including e-mail, routine database activity, word, excel, graphics, etc.

·         Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

·         Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects, meet established deadlines and change as business needs require.

The Role – Project Services Designer I

PURPOSE:

Under direct supervision, this position contributes to value-added customer support by producing basic irrigation designs via a Computer Aided Design (CAD) system.

In this role, you will contribute to the site maintenance team by performing maintenance that will enhance the appearance of the grounds. You will be responsible for designated areas and will prioritize and organize work schedules so that jobs are completed in a timely and high quality manner.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Turf Maintenance – manages weed free turf and also diagnoses and repairs minor problems associated with equipment such as mowers, trimmers, tractors, edger’s, blowers, plows, etc.
• Manages and participates in snow removal activities which includes early morning/weekend arrivals (must be available 24/7 during the winter season; (mid-November thru late March). This includes plowing, operating snow blowers, motorized brooms, salt trucks, skid loaders and end loaders, clearing out fire doors, ice melting walks and the maintenance of the brooms.
• Maintenance of all trees and shrubs – planting, pruning, removing, diagnosing nutrient needs as well as insect and disease damage, watering, weeding shrub beds, etc.
• Parking Lots - removing litter, inspecting and contracting out concrete repair, snow removal from lots and walks, applying salt, etc.
• Irrigation repair - servicing/troubleshooting all aspects of the radio-controlled irrigation system.
• Service all loading docks.
• Participate as part of Site Maintenance team by attending meetings, having a positive attitude and possess the ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Involve co-workers on problem solving and utilizing their assistance.
• Assist in projects for Building Maintenance and Farm Operations and FS&RE.
• Diagnose and repair minor problems associated with equipment such as mowers, trimmers, tractors, edger’s, blowers, plows, etc.
• Must perform all work in a safe manner by following all training requirements as well as safety guidelines and procedures. Proper protective equipment will be worn at all times. Zero accidents are the number one goal.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Job Qualifications

The following are required:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Valid Driver’s License
• Valid Class B CDL licensed or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire
• State of Iowa Certified Applicator in Turf/Ornamentals or the ability to certify within 6 months of hire
• State of Iowa Certified Aquatics and Right of Way or the ability to certify within 6 months of hire
• Ability and willingness to lift 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
• Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot/repair equipment

Major Objectives:
The main objective of a Landscaper is to work towards the completion of various landscape installation services offered by Hawcott Lawn Service. The landscaper will safely and accurately complete landscape installations to residential and commercial sites. Landscaper may be responsible for hardscapes (patios, walks, drives, walls, etc.), outdoor lighting, water features, plantings, grading, etc. The landscaper will be expected to interact with clients in a positive, honest, and personable manner.

Essential Functions:

• Provide proper equipment maintenance of the various equipment used in the services performed.
• Keep accurate and up to date records of work completed.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work site.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong client orientation.

This paid internship will provide you with valuable hands on experience on how to deal with real world situations and management issues. You will be exposed to the work schedule of the turf management industry.

You will become a licensed commercial pesticide applicator in category 3OT, ornamental and turfgrass.  

You will interact with Bunkers Feed and Supply Lawn Care clients and apply a fertilizer, weed, insect and or disease control program to area residential and commercial lawns.
